About Marcus Silva - Jabá
Marcus da Silva, 28, was born in Joao Pessoa - PB, Brazil and currently holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Marcus began his training in 1999, aged 18, at the Mathias Jiu - Jitsu Academy in Sao Paulo - SP, Brazil. Under the instruction of Marcelo Mathias and Renato Gardenal Marcus quickly progressed, leaving his job Marcus further dedicated his time to his training, moving into Mathias’ academy, helping out and training three to five times a day. Once Marcus had achieved his Purple belt he moved from Brazil to Hull, England. Two years later Marcus returned to Brazil for a further month of training where he was awarded his brown belt by instructor and friend Renato Gardenal before returning back to England.
In England Marcus continued to run classes and now teaches primarily from the Triangle Combat Academy, Brough. In addition Marcus also competes in various Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA competitions, currently holding the 10th Legion European MMA Championship belt.
